The design incorporates yuzen-painting, sumi-e painting, and embroidery accents, along with skillful 'bokashi' techniques that create graduated shading between the dark background and the vibrant coastal scene. Adorning the piece are five family crests (mon). It measures 51 inches (130 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and stands tall at 68 inches (173 cm) in height.
