This silk haori utilizes high-contrast layering to create a sense of botanical and geometric depth. The garment is rendered on a deep terracotta-red silk ground with a rinzu (damask) weave, providing a lustrous architectural field for its complex surface decoration.
The composition features a subtle background of tonal, woven ivy leaves that "shimmer" as the damask catches the light. This delicate organic layer is juxtaposed with large shibori geometric patterns in the foreground, consisting of bold, intersecting diagonal bands that form an abstract lattice. Within these resist-dyed bands are stylized four-petaled floral icons, all rendered with the characteristic granular texture of the shibori technique. Adding to its formal pedigree, the jacket features a single, small mon (family crest) centered on the back, providing a focal point of traditional lineage.
It's in excellent condition, measuring 49 inches (124 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and standing at 30 inches (76 cm) tall.
