This silk haori utilizes the ancient shibori (tie-dye) technique to create a rhythmic, botanical composition. The garment is rendered in a warm, muted russet-red, providing a rich architectural field for its soft, high-contrast surface decoration.
The primary design features stylized ume (plum) blossom motifs scattered gracefully across the back and sleeves. These blossoms are meticulously crafted through various shibori methods; some flowers are defined by large, four-petaled "resist" shapes with soft, variegated edges, while others are composed of dense clusters of tiny kanoko (fawn-spot) dots. Connecting these floral elements are delicate, curving lines of dotted shibori, resembling trailing vines or the gentle movement of air.
It's in very good condition, measuring 50 inches (127 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and standing at 39 inches (99 cm) tall.
