This chirimen (crepe) silk kimono displays an abstract design featuring colored rectangles, some adorned with small damask designs. The pink rectangles are highlighted with embroidery, and there are gold metallic insert threads incorporated. Measuring 50 inches (127 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and standing at a height of 60 inches (152 cm).
While the garment boasts an innovative design, reflective of the late Taisho and early Showa period of the 1920s and 1930s, it deviates from traditional Japanese kimono patterns. The artist's experimentation here has yielded interesting and unique results, setting this kimono apart from more conventional designs of that era. Additionally, there are small stains—one on the front lapel and another inconspicuous one on the back collar—that slightly mark the garment.
