A chirimen silk wedding over-kimono featuring pheasant motifs created by yuzen-painting and embroidery. Like some other Edo-period kimono, this garment is heavy, with a loose weave and extremely twisted silk threads. Padded hem. Most of the kimonos in our gallery were imported directly from Japan, however, in this case, it came from 'a prominent New York Estate". 48" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 62" height.
