This striking, soft chirimen (crepe) silk antique uchikake from the mid-19th century features a wonderful pair of detailed pheasants on the backside.The techniques utilized for the pheasants and adjacent scenery are fine satin-stitch and sagara emboidery and extensive couching. The hand brush-painted scenery extends to the padded hem and the interior. Three mon (family crests) on the backside. Excellent condition. 52" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 60" height.
