This ceremonial kimono, woven in plain silk, features yuzen and hand-painted illustrations portraying the legendary super-boy Kintaro riding a carp. The tale of Kintaro, abandoned near Mount Fuji and raised by Yamauba, is depicted to wish for the boy's growth with admirable attributes. Unusually large mon (family crests) adorn this kimono, accented with metallic embroidery highlights. It measures 34 inches (86 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and stands at 39 inches (99 cm) in height.
