This miyamairi boy's silk antique kimono is a tour-de-force of fine embroidery, gold couching, yuzen-painting and hand-painting in the depiction of the boy samurai and his assistant. Some of this embroidery contains gold and silver-colored metallic threads. Miyamairi kimonos were worn during Shinto birth ceremonies. Good condition, with an area of many tiny discrete spots in the mountain area on upper backside. 34" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 41" height.
