A fine silk antique miyamairi kimono, one utilized to drape over a one-month old baby boy during rite of passage at a Shinto Shrine. Technique: yuzen-painting and freehand painting, with sagara and simple embroidery highlights. The auspicious and imposing pine tree motif represents the wish that the boy have a long life characterized by strength and endurance. 35" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 40" height.
