Black Rinzu Silk Haori: Yuzen Mandala Motifs & Gold Foil

This silk haori  utilizes complex dyeing and metallic applications to create a series of celestial-inspired icons. The garment is rendered on a deep black silk ground with a rinzu (damask) base, providing a shimmering, architectural field for the high-contrast surface decoration.

The composition features several large, distinct geometric motifs scattered across the back and sleeves. Each motif comprises intricately arranged yuzen-dyed shapes, forming mandala-like sequences in a palette of dusty rose, sage-green, and powder-blue. These medallions are further elevated by significant metal foil detailing and gold embroidery, applied using traditional resist-dye techniques to define the sharp, symmetrical borders of the inner geometric forms. The rinzu base fabric features its own tonal, woven damask patterns that catch the light, adding a secondary layer of textural luxury beneath the ornate, multi-colored medallions.

It's in very good condition, measuring 49 inches (124 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and standing at 39 inches (99 cm) tall.
